History:
- Design: the Predator Class is the new state of the art Starship, Designed by RnD/Utopia Fleet Yards Commander and Chief of Staff , Captain Robert Robichaud to be the successor of the aging Intrepid Class, Fan of the Intrepid Class, its design was one of a kind, a ship that could explore just like a science ship, but could defend its self just as good as a Battleship and have the manoeuvrability's of a shuttle the speed of a Defiant class and a beautiful sleek design equipped with non space damaging warp engines all packed into 1 ship made it one of a kind, we suspect that the intrepid will still be around for a long time to come, however Chief Designer Captain Robert Robichaud also saw a few flaws in the design, the ship is the fastest in Starfleet however its not going to its full potential, it cant create a warpfield that can stay stable enough to surpass warp 9.99, by adding 2 extra nacelles this helps in creating that warp field, also the new revolutionary warpfield also designed by Captain Robert Robichaud is the key to keeping a stable warp field at warp 9.995, instead of just creating a warpfield around the ship, what if the warpfield was created around the hull ? result is stronger hull integrity during warp, an other flaw that Captain Robert Robichaud saw in the intrepid was the lack of torpedo storage, the standard intrepid had a standard compliment of about 30 torpedoes, during the dominion wars, the Intrepid class's were always running out of torpedoes, and many were destroyed for it, adding an Extra Deck (Deck 16) as an extra cargo bay mainly for torpedoes put an end to this problem, also with the extra space, extra quarters and a Holodecks was also added as well as other facilities, and finally the Warpcore, the regular Warpcore is to small to power the 4 nacelles of the new Class so a new more powerful slightly bigger core was installed to feed the nacelles making Main engineering slightly bigger.
- First Ship Destruction: The Predator Class was originally named Intrepid Mk 2 as the first ship of her class it the USS Intrepid A, the Intrepid was destroyed along with all hands shortly after it was lunched, a fatal design flaw in the new Quantum II Torpedoes exploded during test firing, half of the engineering section was destroyed, before the crew could evacuate, the hull clasped and to everyone's horror she was destroyed, so it was decided that the class would be named after the next ship in line, USS Predator thus the Predator Class
