With Naruto and Sakura rescued from Alcatraz, The Predator and Enterprise have set course back towards Konoha, Sakura is still emotionally and psychologically scared, will she ever recover to her former self ? Katie is currently lost in her own thoughts about her relationship with Naruto, and since he has paid very little attention to her, she has been spending more and more time with her old friend Konohamaru, what will her future hold ? [Naruto]

The Predator and Enterprise had arrived in Konohan space, they were greeted by Defense Force squad, giving them a heroes welcome home

Naruto was on the bridge, though it wasn’t his choice, he would rather be by Sakura’s side, but Sasuke had talked him into bringing the ship in home, He was amazed by what he saw, Konoha was buzzing with activity, multiple shipyards had been built, and in each and every one of them, a ship was being built, extra defense grids had been added as well and there starbase had been turned into a full HQ and looked like it had been upgraded, Konoha Defence Forces were sure not losing time

Naruto: My god….This is Konoha ?

The rest of the crew were equally amazed, they had not seen there home planet in a while since they had been stationed at Orb and then spent the last few months rescuing Naruto from Alcatraz

Sasuke: I wonder if anything has changed on the planet…..I hope not

Naruto: I don’t think that Granny Tsunade would allow that to happen

Ino: You know, one of these days, she’s going to kill you for calling her that

Naruto: She’s already tried…

Hinata: We are getting an incoming hail

Naruto: Patch it threw

The screen changed to show Shizune

Shizune: -= Predator, Welcome home, Naruto, its good to see you safely back =-

Voice in the background: -= And do us all a favour, and STOP GETTING CAPTURED ALREADY !! =-

Naruto: …..Its nice to see you too Hokage Sama

Tsunade: -= I want you, Itachi and his team, as well as Shikamaru to join me in my office for a full debriefing of the mission =-

Naruto: Must I really go ? Sakura is still needing me and….

Tsunade: -= Yes, you must come, Sakura will be fine without you for a short period of time =-

Naruto was upset, he wanted to object, but he knew better, he just nodded

Naruto: We will be there in about 10 minutes

Tsunade: -= Understood, Konoha command out =-

Konoha Leaf logo with the END TRANSMITION appeared on screen

Naruto: Yuna, hail the Enterprise, request that Konohamaru join us on the planets surface in 5 minutes

Yuna: Aye aye sir, and should I also make a request for Katie as well ?

Naruto: Katie? Why?

Shika: Well she is also on the Enterprise

Naruto: She is ?!

Shika: Yeah, you didn’t know ?

Naruto: No, I guess I have been focusing my attention so much on Sakura, that I haven’t paid much attention to her lately, I guess I should apologies to her for that, so yeah, make a request for her to join us as well

Yuna: Message sent sir

Naruto: Perfect, Itachi, Sasuke and Shikamaru, your with me, Ensign, have Kiba join us in the transporter room, Hinata, you have the bridge

Hinata: Aye aye sir

Naruto and the others make there way to the transporter room, Kiba had joined them as they beamed down to meet Katie and Konohamaru in front of the Fire Tower, witch was where the Hokage’s office was, as well as the Konoha Defense Force ground HQ.

Not much had changed on the planet, to Naruto’s relief, however, a few computer systems had been added to the Konoha Fire Tower, it was to be expected since it was now in command of the forces, however, most of the daily stuff was processed threw the starbase HQ

Naruto was greeted by a young women that he recognize right away

Shizune: Ah, its good to see you all, I must say, its been a while since I have seen you in person, Naruto, you seem to have grown into a fine young man

Naruto blushed a bit

Naruto: Thanks…..

Kiba: Hey ! And what about me ?!

Shizune laughed a bit and looked at him

Shizune: You all have, Welcome home guys

Kiba: That’s better!

He said with a grin

Shizune: please fallow me, Hokage Sama is expecting you

The group fallowed her towards 2 large doors with 2 ANBU guarding each sides, they bowed there heads at Shizune and opened the doors, the group opened them and entered. The Hokage office had changed little since Naruto was last in it, however, just like the rest of the building ,there were a few pieces of technology, such as the Computer the Hokage was working on when they walked in

Shizune: Naruto and his group are here Hokage Sama

Tsunade: Thank you Shizune, you may leave us

Shizune: Yes Hokage Sama

Shizune bowed before turning around, the doors shutting behind her, Katie was not sure what to expect. Sure, she had been debriefed by her commanding officers before, even an Admiral once, but that was in the Federation

Tsunade: I have read the report from Itachi and Shikamaru on the mission, good work everyone

Shika: Thank you Hokage Sama

Sasuke: Now if only he can try not to be captured for a few months

Naruto: Shut up Sasuke! I wouldn’t talk if I were you, Mr who deserted the ship in the middle of a war…

Both of them stared at each other, you could see that there was tension between them, but it was somehow different from there old rivalry , this was almost hostile and surprised Tsunade a bit

Tsunade: Calm down you 2, Naruto does have a point Sasuke, you did abandon your squad in the middle of a war, no matter the reasons, If you had been a Ninja who abandoned his squad mates, you would have been branded as a traitor and hunted down, you should know this

Sasuke: I…..I know Hokage Sama, and I am ready to accept any type of punishment

Tsunade: Well, I think we can forgo the throwing you in a prison cell just this once…..However, I cannot allow you to get off scotch free, so here is my decision, you are hereby reduced in rank to LT Commander, it will also be up to Naruto weather or not you continue being his first officer

Sasuke: I understand Hokage Sama, I thank you for not throwing me in the brig for my actions

Tsunade: Then there is the result of your last mission, it seems that we are now in control of a prison, and I am at a lost as to what we are going to do with it, we already have a prison on Konoha and some of the colonies

Shika: If you read my report Hokage Sama, I did make some recommendations, If we are to keep the station, the entire crew should be rotated on a regular basis, no longer then once every 6 months, possibly every 3 months, it would insure that what happened on Alcatraz would never happen again as the guards would always be changing

Naruto: Pff it would NOT guarantee it, it would only minimize the possibilities, just because we are giving them less time, they are still alone, and not being monitored !

Tsunade: What do you suggest we do then Naruto ?

Naruto: Destroy it…..

Shika: What ?! But its a perfectly good station, Fine, re can just refit it into something else other then a prison, we can use it as a secret base too….

Naruto banged his fist on Tsunade’s desk out of anger, this even surprised Tsunade

Naruto: NO! The history of that place must be erased, I want it destroyed

Shika: Naruto….I understand that bad things happened but we cannot let a perfectly good base go to waste and….

Kono: I agree with Naruto Nii-san. It should be destroyed

Shika: You too Konohamaru?

Tsunade: What about you Sasuke ?

Sasuke: Shikamaru, you weren’t on that station, you don’t fully understand how bad it was, I know your only thinking about the future and wellbeing of Konoha, but trust me when I say, Alcatraz should be destroyed

Kiba: I agree, there are demons in that place that could only be exorcised by its destruction...

Shika: How troublesome, now your going to say that you believe in ghost and such ? Itachi, come on back me up

Itachi: I do not care, keep it, destroy it, it makes no difference to me what you do

Tsunade: What about you LT....Garet is it ?

Katie: Yes ma'am

Tsunade: Your the only one who hasn't said anything, what do you think of all this ?

Katie: I don't really know ma'am....All I can say is that while I was on that station, the things I saw, abuse of power, rapes, beatings, torture, murder, I am not saying that the place is haunted by spirits, but I do know that there is a bad vibe, a gloomy atmosphere about that place, one that I do not think you can get rid of, not with the history behind it, its destruction could bring about some much needed peace to both the dead, and the living

Tsunade was shocked at the answer, she wasn't expecting something so deep from a girl of her age, she was smart and beautiful, she though about how she reminded her of herself at that age and smiled at her

Tsunade: I am happy to see someone on your staff has some maturity Naruto

Katie blushed a bit at the comment

Tsunade: Well Shikamaru, can you think of a reason to keep the place after hearing that ?

Shika: "sighs" Its to troublesome to continue, especially when I can see where this is going

Tsunade: Very well then, I guess Alcatraz will be destroyed, we will send a ship to evacuate the station and its inmates

Naruto: I want them transferred to Konoha's highest security detention facilities, these bastards deserve NO sympathy from us !

Tsunade: Don't worry Naruto, I will make sure of it, now then, with that out of the way, the next thing to talk about is you Itachi

Itachi:"In a cold tone" Yes ?

Tsunade: What are we going to do with you ? I know that you claim to have been a double agent for Starfleet, and that the only people who could confirm your story are dead, but how can we trust you ?

Itachi:as I have already stated, over, and over, I am ready to answer for my crimes, If you wish to throw me in one of Konoha's prisons, then I would accept it, there is nothing more I can do to convince you otherwise of my loyalties to Konoha

Itachi stood their, not hesitating at all awaiting for his judgement. He had a cold, but honest look on his face. Tsunade looked at Itachi, she stared at him for any form of deception, but she could find none, she turned to Sasuke and Naruto

Tsunade: Since you 2 have a lot to do with this, and have spent more time with him then me, what is your opinion of him ?

Sasuke: I have to say Hokage Sama, at first, I was just as skeptical as you, even to this day, I cannot be fully 100% sure, but I can tell you this, he saved me from being a prisoner of Carter, at the risk of his own life, he then lead our team team to Alcatraz and was able to rescue not only Naruto, but Sakura as well. Is he really telling us the truth ? I still don't know, but I do know that he has done nothing to indicate otherwise

Tsunade: Hurm, I see, and you Naruto ?

Naruto: I don't know..... I mean if he is telling the truth.....Then I owe much to him, he tried to stop my fathers assassination, he tried to save my life back on the Predator right before Sasuke left to hunt him down, he rescued Sasuke and me from Carter... So what I am trying to say is, IF he is telling the truth, I owe much thanks to him....

Itachi: You owe me nothing...I wasn't able to stop him from killing your father....And was barely able to stop him from killing you on that dammed day, If I remember correctly, you were badly injured and were out for some time

Naruto: My point is....That you did not Kill my father OR try to kill me, thus your not a traitor, and those were the biggest crimes you were being accused, again, assuming your telling the truth...

Tsunade: Hurm, Itachi I just cannot believe you to be a traitor, I don't know why, but I believe you, and because of your brave actions and loyalty to Konoha, I believe that you are deserving of a Promotion to Captain, and with it, your own command

Itachi furrowed his brow and paused, but only for a moment

Itachi: I don't understand, why?

Tsunade: Both before, and during your time as a Starfleet officer, you have demonstrated leadership skills far beyond your years, It would be a waste not to put them to good use

Itachi: But wouldn't my skills best be suited for Intel

Tsunade: I believe that you have done enough work in that field for now, we have Many new officers that could take your place as Intel officers, but we are in need of more captains and leaders. In order for Konoha to remain free, we must always be building new ships, defenses and technologies, if Carter ever suspects he has a chance, I do not doubt he would invade our space, strip us of our resources, as well as enslave us all

Itachi: I see.....Very well Hokage Sama, I will do as you order me too

Itachi returned to his normal cold look, but Tsunade could tell he was happy which made her smile.

Tsunade: Perfect, Now then, Finally you Naruto

Naruto: .....Me ?

Tsunade: As you may have noticed, many things have changes since you left, Konoha is in control of a major space force, the former Starfleet ships have sworn to protect Konoha, rather then join Carter

The mere mention of Carters name began to make Naruto's blood boil

Tsunade: And although I am the leader of Konoha, I don't know much about whats going on out there, that is why I had to pick someone to lead with me, while I take care of anything that has to do with Political business, I have chosen Picard to be the one who lead our space forces

Naruto: Alright.....But I am not sure what this has to do with me..

Tsunade: Picard requested you to be second in command

Naruto: Me ?! Second in command ?!

Tsunade: Well he wanted someone who had leadership skills, as well as someone he could trust, and since you also happen to be the very first captain that Konoha has produced, He suggested you

Naruto: Wow.... So, does this come with a promotion by chance ? Maybe something like Rear Admiral ?

Tsunade laughed at him

Tsunade: Sorry Naruto, no, but you do get to keep your title as Fleet Captain

Naruto: Alright then, I guess thats better then nothing

Tsunade: Alright, your all dismissed, except for Naruto

Everyone begin to leave when Naruto says something

Naruto: Hey Katie, mind waiting for me ? It shouldn't be long...Uh right Hokage Sama ?

Tsunade: Don't worry, it wont

Katie just nodded, wondering what he could want to talk about, she was both excited and scared, as sad as it sounded, those 2 phrases were the most he had spoken to her in the past week

Naruto and Tsunade were finally alone, She sat down at her desk and motion for Naruto to take a seat in one of the chairs in front of her desk

Tsunade: There is a big meeting coming up in just a few days, many of the independent faction leaders that have refused to rejoin the new Federation will be there, as well as a few currently unhappy members of the Federation, This could be something big for Konoha, the meeting is about the possibility of them joining us

Naruto: Well that's great, but why tell me ?

Tsunade: Because, you are going to be representing Konoha

Naruto was shocked

Naruto: What ? But why me ? I mean I am honored and all but, I would rather much more be trying to figure out a way to be getting back at Carter for everything hes done to me, Starfleet.....And most of all Sakura

Tsunade: You need to calm down Naruto, I understand your anger, Don't you think that more then half the fleet here wouldn't want to take Carter out after what he did to Starfleet ? Of course they would, that's why we must build our forces up, make allies, gather resources, Carter will get whats coming to him, as for the why you, its because you must begin getting ready for these types of meetings, You are the future leader of Konoha, and as leader, you need to begin taking the responsibilities, don't worry, Picard will be with you if you need any advice or help

Naruto: Well though you keep saying I will be the next Hokage, that does not guarantee me the leadership of Konoha, only if I have the support of the other Kages to lead the council

Tsunade: Naruto, think about it, who are the Kages ? First we have Gara as the Kazekage of the Wind country, you 2 have been friends since you were kids, you know that you have his full trust and support, Kimashi of the Earth country, the Tsuchikage, you help unify the earth country in the last civil war, Kurosaki Ichigo, the Yurokage of the Night country owes you, because of you, the nigh country is now recognized as a major country and he was given official Kage status, also you 2 get along greatly as you are very much alike, that alone is 4 Kages, including yourself

Naruto: I guess....

Tsunade: Also, I am not getting younger Naruto, I will have to retire sooner or later, I have only agreed to being Hokage long enough to give you some freedom as well as learn more experiences, unless you are saying, you wish to relinquish your claims to the title of Hokage ?

Naruto: No of course not, I guess this is all happening so fast, things are changing around me at such a rapid rate, I promise you that when you decide to step down, I will be ready to lead our people

Tsunade: That's good to hear, now I believe that young Lieutenant is waiting for you outside, you can go now

She said with a smile, Naruto nodded

Naruto: Thank you Hokage Sama

Naruto walked out of the office with many things on his mind while Tsunade opened one of her desk drawers, with both a bottle and a small cup, she opened the bottle, SAKE was on a small label, she poured herself a cup and drank it

Tsunade: That boy is going to be alright

She said with a grin

Naruto found Katie siting at one of the lounge area's, both Konohamaru and Shizune, he walked over to them

Shizune: Ah Naruto, I heard the good news about your appointment to second in command of our space forces

Naruto: Thanks, So what were you guys talking about ?

Kono: Nothing much, just keeping Katie company until you arrived, after all, she not use to being on Konoha

Katie: Thanks Konohamaru, and Miss Shizune

Shizune: Please, just call me Shizune, your making me feel old

She said with a grin

Naruto: So, Would you like to go for a walk threw the city ?

He said looking at Katie, she just nodded

Kono: Well I will be going to visit uncle Sarutobi, catch you guys latter

Naruto: See you latter

Naruto and Katie walked out of the tower, they began to stroll down the streets of Konoha, there was an awkward silence between them, Naruto decided to break it, but just as he was going too

They both stopped and looked away from each other, if it wasn't for the fact that there seemed to be tension between them, Naruto would have considered it funny

Naruto: You first....

Katie: No, you go...

Naruto took a deep breath and stopped, he was looking at Katie

Naruto: I know that I haven't been myself since I came back, I know that you were worried about me and worked hard to save me, and that in return, I have ignored you, and spent almost every waking moment with Sakura..

Katie: You don't need to be sorry ...

Naruto: Please let me finish....

Katie: alright....

Naruto: As i was saying, I know that I must be acting like a total jerk, so I want you to know that, even though Sakura is back, it changes nothing between us.... I still love you, I made a promise to protect you, and I intend to keep it, I still need to spend some time with Sakura, she needs me right now, but I wanted you to know that, I am not thinking of leaving you to go back to her.....

Katie gave him a faint smile, but no response

Naruto: ....Katie ?

Katie lowered her head

Katie: I....

A tear was rolling down her cheek

Naruto: Katie ? Are you alright ?

Katie: ....I don't want you to remain with me because you feel like you have too.... I don't want you to stay with me, and years from now regret it.... I don't want you to stay with me because of a promise you made to my father...I don't want you to stay with me and think of an other....

Naruto: Katie..

Katie: No, you asked me to allow you to finish, now please allow me....Naruto, I love you, there is no question about it, and I can even believe that you love me as well, but, I am not blind, she is your first love, your first crush, I even know about that special bond you 2 share together, that bond that allows you 2 to be connected like no one other could be, right now you may love me, but what can you say about the future ? You cannot say that the special bond you 2 share will not be an issue, but I want you to know that I have really been thinking about it a lot, since as you said, I have had a lot of time to myself since our return.....And I want you to know that I am not angry with you, or her, you originally belonged to her, I remember when we first met and all you could talk about was her, you may not know it , you may even deny it, but I know you enough to know that you still love her, I see the way you look at her, but like I said, its alright, you gave me the happiest months of my life..... I just hope that we can remain friends

She said while not making eye contact with him, Naruto was shocked, and almost heart broken

Katie: I know this will probably make things awkward between us, so, I will be making a request to transfer back to the Enterprise.....Since I don't want to be a bother or cause any unnecessary problems, see you around

She hugged him one last time and quickly tapped her comm badge

Katie: Good bye Naruto.....Predator, 1 to beam up.....

Naruto just stood there in shock, still trying to process what had just happened, he was about to contact the ship and request a beam up so he could go after her, but suddenly, he received a call

Unknown Voice: (screaming in the background) -= Captain, we need you back in the infirmary right now ! Its an emergency ! =-

Naruto: Who is this ? And whats going on ?

Ian: -= This is Doctor Ian Zanders sir, Its Sakura, she is out of control and screaming for you sir....=-

You could hear something break in the background as well as a girls voice, calling out for Naruto

Naruto: What ? Damn it, I will be right there !

He double tapped his comm badge, once to close the channel, and once more to open a new one

Naruto: Naruto to Predator, I need you to beam my directly to sickbay

Hinata: -= Understood, standby for beaming =-

And with the familiar shimmer of light, Naruto found himself in the sickbay, almost right away, he had to duck to avoid being hit with a flying tricord, he was able to catch it in mid air with his hand, he quickly ran over to Sakura and held her in his arms, she was still screaming his name, tears strolling down her cheeks

Naruto: Hey, Hey, I am here now, don't worry, nothing is going to happen to you alright? Shh...I am here now

He slowly rocked her back and forth, slowly she began to calm down, and she stopped crying and held him tightly

Naruto: I am here now alright ?

She didn't let go of him, and slowly her eyes began to shut, she had literally fallen asleep while holding onto him, Naruto took a quick look around the room, sickbay was a mess, some lights had been broken, a few panels had been damaged, one of the nurses had even been injured by a flying object, but the oddest thing was 2 knocked out security officers, the Doctors slowly came out of there hiding spots, amazed at how fast she had calmed down

Ian: I am happy to see her calmed down, when she began to get out of hand, I tried to sedate her, but she fought back, I called security, but well...That was the result

He said pointing at the 2 security officers who were knocked unconscious

Ian: She has....Incredible strength, had we known she was this strong, we should have just stunned her, would have been much safer

Naruto: Yeah..... But she should be fine now, so what caused this ?

Ian: I tried to conduct some more scans, to check up on her and make sure everything had healed correctly, but when I got too close with my tricorder, she began to get nervous, I tried to calm her down by saying i wouldn't hurt her, but when I took a step closer, well she lost it....I apologize sir, I could have waited until you had returned

Naruto: Well you can conduct them now while she is sleeping, then we can get engineering to come fix the damage

Unknown Voice: Have you though about moving her to a better environment that she is more accustomed too ?

Naruto looked at a Female officer, a commander by the looks of her pips, but he had not seen her before

Naruto: Who are you ?

Unknown Women: I am Commander Diana Troi, First officer of the USS Titan, I had been asked by Captain Picard personally to come here

Naruto: Diana Troi, as in "THEE" Councilor Troi ?

Troi: Yes Captain, That would be me, now about moving her....

Naruto: Well, I have though about it, but then I didn't know where to put her, I would be afraid to leave her alone in her quarters

Troi: What about her family ? She must have some family on the planet right ? Perhaps they could help you take care of her

Naruto: Yeah.....I haven't told her family yet, I have been afraid of going down there and telling them what has happened to there daughter, her dad almost killed me on the day I told her she was dead.... I can only imagine what he will do to me when I tell him we were wrong and what actually happened to her

Troi: But you need to tell them eventually, and the longer you keep it away from them, the worst it will be when you do, plus, I can sense the real reason you was not going to tell the

Naruto: What ?

Troi: I can tell that you could care less about any physical damage they could inflict on you, what I think you are most afraid of, is that they will take her away from you, am I right ?

Naruto looked down at Sakura, she was still sleeping peacefully, and then, the events that had happened with Katie flooded his mind, could she have been right about him ? Did he still want to be with Sakura as more then just friends, but he made a promise to Katie, he can't just abandon her

Troi: I will take your silence as a yes, and its very a common way of thinking, I can sense the deep bond you 2 share together, I also read the file about everything that's happened, from the very first day you both entered Starfleet

Naruto: You read our entire files, of both of us ?

Troi: I like to be prepared for my cases, and this one was a very serious and severe one, so I wanted to prepare for it as much as I could. But you should tell her parents, I am sure that they will help the healing process

Naruto: Yeah.....Maybe your right, but I have a big diplomatic meeting coming up

Troi: Then perhaps you should bring them here, either way, they should be involved with her healing process

Naruto: ....Alright, Could you stay with her while I head down and break the news to her parents ?

Troi: Of course, take your time, if anything happens, I will contact you right away

Naruto nodded, he lifted Sakura onto one of the bio beds, he took a few moments to look at her, he smiled and walked out of the sickbay, laving her alone with Troi and Ian, who was in his office talking to engineering, he had given the nurses the rest of there shift off

Naruto found himself in front of the same door he stood in front of only a few months ago, he took a deep breath and knocked on the door, he waited, the door opened and he was greeted with Sakura's cheerful mother

Tatami: Ah Naruto ! Its been so long since we have seen you

Naruto: Miss Haruno..

Tatami: How many times must I tell you, you are like family, call me Tatami

Ishida: (Sakura's father) Who is is hun ?

Tatami: Its Naruto, he has come to visit us

Ishida: Oh, How are you doing my boy ? Its crazy all the things that's been going on, I guess you have been rather busy, its nice of you to visit us

Naruto: ....I have something to tell you, its good and bad news

Tatami: What ? What news could you possibly have for us

Naruto: Its about Sakura

Both Tatami and Ishida's eyes widen, they were shocked, yet anxious at the same time

Ishida: Well don't keep us waiting boy !

Naruto: The good news is, we were wrong, someone, Sakura survived, she was captured by the enemy only moments before she would have be sucked into space

Ishida suddenly began to smile, as did Tatami

Ishida: So our baby girl is alive ? Is she with you ? Can we see her ?

Tatami: Wait....Whats the bad news ?

Naruto: ......The place where she was imprisoned at treated her horribly, they tortured her, hurt her, physically and mentally....And they rapped her as well

Ishida: WHAT ?!

Tatami: Let him finish !

Naruto: ....They did this to her for the entire time she was there prisoner, its caused her to be scared psychologically, she does not trust anyone, especially males....Other then me for some reason....

Ishida and Tatami were on the verge of tears, Ishida wanted to hit someone, anyone, and the only person in front of him was Naruto, but Tatami began to talk again

Tatami: Can we see her ?

Naruto: Actually, that is one of the reasons I came down here, I will be going to a very big and important diplomatic meeting within the next few days. and once more, with a shimmering light, they were gone. They found themselves in the transporter room, it was the first time that Tatami and Ishida had actually left the planet, they were a bit amazed by the level of technology, Ino was standing by at the console

Ino: Welcome back sir

Naruto: Thanks Ino

Naruto walked out of the transporter room fallowed by the 2, every officer they encountered would greet and salute Naruto, this came to a surprise to Ishida, he knew Naruto was a ships captain, but somehow, he didn't picture him being so respected, perhaps all the stories he had heard about him were not so exaggerated after all, they finally arrived at sickbay, they entered, a few engineers were repairing the damages caused by Sakura earlier

Tatami: Did she cause this ?

Naruto: Yeah...

Troi: Welcome back captain, I assume that these are her parents ?

Naruto: Yes, Commander Troi, these are Tatami and Ishida Haruno, Sakura's parents, and this is Commander Diana Troi, best councilor in the fleet

Troi: Pleasure to meet you

Ishida: Where is she ?

Naruto: Right here

He said while leading them to the bio bed where he had laid Sakura down, she was still sleeping peacefully, Naruto smiled at her and woke her by shaking her lightly

Naruto: Hey there sleepy head, I have some people who want to see you

She slowly woke up and sat up, Ishida was so happy to see her, he tried to give her a hug, but she pushed him away screaming out Naruto's name and grabbing his arm, pulling him in between him and her father

Naruto: Calm down, its alright, he is not going to hurt you, its your father remember

She slowly peek up from behind Naruto's shoulder and stared at her dad

Ishida: What have they done to her....She doesn't even recognize me

Troi: I do not believe that to be the case, I think that you may have just startled her a bit

Naruto held her hand and brought her to his side, Ishida smiled again, he wanted to hold her, but knew he would need to gain her trust, he was just jealous at how much she clinged onto him

Naruto: Now, I will be very busy for the next few days, and I won't be able to always be with you, but your parents will make sure nothing happens to you alright? You can trust them, they love you very much, they won't allow any harm to come to you alright ?

She nodded at him, a tear was coming down Tatami's eye, it was hard for her not to want to hold her baby girl, Sakura slowly walked forward

Tatami: Hey Sakura, Do you remember us ?

Sakura nodded

Tatami: Would you like us to stay with you ? I could make you your favorite dinner tonight if you want

Sakura smiled a bit at the idea of being able to eat her favorite dinner that only her mother knew how to make just right

Ishida: And I will make sure no one harms you while he is away from you

Sakura nodded at both of them, Troi smiled, knowing that had made progress

Troi: Very good, Now I will allow you all to get reacquainted, Captain, May I request some guest quarters ?

Naruto: Of course, I will have an officer show you to them right away

Troi: How about you show me, so we can give them some time alone, I am sure her parents would appreciate it

Naruto looked at Sakura and her parents interacting, Her father was so happy to have his daughter back, he nodded at Troi

He went to the reunited family for a second

Naruto: Alright, I will be showing commander Troi some guest quarters, I will come back latter to show you guys to your quarters, so you can spend some time alone together, if something goes wrong and you need to contact me, just tell the doctor to get a hold of me alright ?

Tatami: Alright, thank you Naruto

Naruto then looked at Sakura

Naruto: I will be going for a little while alright ? Don't worry, I will be back

He smiled at her and she nodded at him, he turned around and motioned for Troi to fallow him, they then walked out of sickbay

Katie was laying in her bed, her eyes were wet from crying, she knew she was the one who had broken up with Naruto, but it seemed to hurt almost as much as if he would have done it, she had already made the transfer request to go over to the Enterprise, she was hoping that captain Picard would accept it, suddenly she hears the doors open, Katie was wondering who had just entered her quarters, then she froze, what if it was Naruto ?! No, it couldn't be him, he would have rung the chime, then who was it ? Katie rubbed her tears away with her sleeve, she then got up and walked out of her room, she saw Yuna sitting on one of the chairs, relaxing after a long bridge shift

Katie: Yuna ?

Yuna: Oh, hey Katie, whats up ?

Katie: What are you doing here ?

Yuna: What do you mean ?

Katie: What are you doing in my quarters ?

Yuna: What ? Uh Katie, we are room mates remember ?

It suddenly hit Katie, she was right, they had been room mates since Katie had joined the crew, though she was given the option to get her own quarters, Katie and Yuna had always gotten along and had become good friends, so she didn't mind sharing her quarters with her

Katie: Oh my god.....How could I have forgotten that, I guess with all these things on my mind.....

Yuna: Whats wrong ? You don't look good...And what is that ? Are your eyes watery ? Katie ! What happened !

Katie: Nothing....Nothing...

Yuna: Katie, you are one of my closes friends, dare I say, my best friend, so what kind of friend would I be if I believed you when you say nothing is wrong, when I can plainly see something is wrong

Katie smiled a bit, Yuna was indeed a good friend, though she considered Konohamaru one of her closes friends, she would consider Yuna her best friend

Yuna: So come on, sit down here, I will get us some hot chocolate, just the way you like it, and we are going to have a talk alright ?

Naruto was showing Councilor Troi her quarters

Naruto: Here we are, nothing fancy, I apologize, we are a small combat ship, so we don't have many luxuries

Troi: This will do nicely, your ship is better then you give it credit for captain, sure, this room is small, but this would almost be on par with the titan's guest quarters, in terms of comfort

Naruto: Well.......Thanks I guess

Troi: Now then, I would like to begin my counseling sessions with her first thing tomorrow after breakfast, would that be a good time for you ?

Naruto: Me ?

Troi: Yes, I believe that it would be best if you were there with her

Naruto: Oh yeah, I guess I can make some time tomorrow morning

Troi: Perfect

Naruto: Well make yourself at home, I must be going, I have some paperwork to catch up on

Naruto left the commander and made his way to his ready room, he sat down in his chair and looked at his desk, a small stack of PADDs had accumulated, he let out a deep sigh

Naruto: Where did all this come from... I guess being the second in command of the fleet has its drawbacks, well, lets get started before more of them start coming in

He begins to work on the stack, when suddenly his console began to bleep and his screen began flashing with "incoming transmission"

Naruto: What is this ?

He tapped a button on his console and Tsunade's face appeared

Naruto: Hokage Sama, this is a surprise

Tsunade: -= Well, I had a few things I needed to talk to you about =-

Naruto: I see

Tsunade: -= How are you doing ? =-

Naruto: Very good, I am just catching up on some fleet paperwork, also trying to get ahead since I will be busy with that diplomatic mission you gave me

Tsunade: -= Hard to believe that your actually a responsible hard working young man =-

Naruto: Hey!

Tsunade smiled at him, deep down, she loved Naruto like a son, so she took pleasure in teasing him

Tsunade: -= I am just kidding =-

She said with a smirk

Naruto: Is there any reason in particular that you contacted me for ? Or did you just want to make fun of me for no apparent reason other then being board ?

Tsunade: -= As much fun as that would be, I have contacted you on a very serious matter, it affects you, your crew and ship =-

Tsunade: -= As you know, Itachi was promoted to captain, he has also been given command of his own ship, you might remember it, you served on it for quite some time, the USS Freedom =-

Naruto's eyes suddenly lit up, the ship where he spent most of his carrier on, other then the Predator, it was now back !

Naruto: That's great!! I am so happy that the Freedom is back, where was it all this time?

Tsunade: -= Thanks to your pleads to have her repaired after the major battle over Cardassia that forced you and your crew to abandon her, she was put back into service, the captain was a Carter supporter so she had been fighting on the other side of the war during the civil war =-

Naruto: How did we get our hands on her then?

Tsunade: -= A large part of the crew did not agree with Carter's way of doing things, they lead a mutiny and eventually took control of the ship, they requested an asylum, and we agreed to it, so they decided to join the fleet, however most of there senior staff were killed in the mutiny, as were a large part of there crew =-

Naruto: I see, well its great to have her back, I wouldn't mind paying the old girl a visit, but why are you contacting me about this?

Tsunade: -= Because.....Some of his senior staff requests are on your ship, actually most of them are =-

Naruto: What?!

Tsunade: -= Now Naruto, before you get mad, you have to think about them first, what are there chances to advance on your ship, you have to think of them, and not yourself =-

Tsunade: -= He wants Tenten as his chief navigational officer, since you have Katie as yours, and also that young ensign Yuna could fill in her job at ops perfectly, it would be a good opportunity for Tenten to advance =-

Tsunade: -= I know, but like I said, think about them, and your own crew as well, next we have Neji, he wants him as his chief of operations and Hazard team CO =-

Naruto: ....."sigh" I guess he has been wanting more duties, though I had found the perfect solution for him by giving him some night shift command time....Who else?

Naruto: But....."sigh" Damn it, as much as I want to keep him, Its true that I don't have anything else for him to do on the ship

Naruto: .....Wait, your asking me to chose?! How could I....

Tsunade: -= Well you can't have both of them, say you pick Sasuke, what are you going to do with Shikamaru ? put him back on Tactical ? He would be moving backwards, and if you were to pick Sasuke, Same thing would apply, you cannot keep them both =-

Naruto: I just wish things could go back to how they use to be.....We were such a happy family, and I had worked so hard to keep us all together as well, its just so hard to let them go

Tsunade: -= Well tell you what, sit down and talk with each of them, tell them about opportunity, if they refuse, if they are happy where they are, where there carrier is going, then I will allow you to keep them, however.....=-

Naruto: If they chose to leave.....Yeah I get the idea

The Konoha command logo appeared on the screen for a minute before returning to normal

Naruto: Things are so much more complicated from when I was just a kid playing Ninja......"sigh"

The Predator was in orbit around Konoha, Naruto was still in his ready room and still working on his paper work, he gave a big sigh as he though about how things were now, Starfleet has fallen, Konoha is head of a major space force and has colonies of its own, well they use to belong to Starfleet as mining colonies since they were extremely rich in dilithium and other rare ores, he was actually second in command of the entire fleet, Sakura....Well he didn't know if she would ever be Sakura ever again, and he blamed himself for that, and to top it all off, he has to break up part of his family, not to mention that Sasuke situation, what was wrong with Sasuke anyway?. His door began to chime, but he was too cough up in his thoughts to realize it, it chimed again.....And again......And again, Naruto finally snapped out of it and responded

Naruto: Come

The doors open, it was Kiba, he handed a PADD to Naruto

Kiba: The ship is in top condition, all minor refits are completed and damage repaired

Naruto: Good work Lieutenant....

Kiba raised an eyebrow as Naruto was reading his PADD

Naruto: Is there anything else?

Kiba: Are you alright?

Naruto: Well yes of course....

Kiba: Are you sure?

Naruto: Yes, why wouldn't I be?

Kiba: Well let's see, it took about almost 2 minutes for you to open the damn door, I was almost about to give up, then I see you in this depressed state, and finally, you called me by rank.....In all my time of serving as your chief engineer, you have NEVER called me by my rank, so yeah, whats up? Have something on your mind?

Naruto smiled a bit, Kiba was always to the point, never afraid to speak his mind, he was a dammed good chief engineer, and friend

Naruto: I have so many things racing threw my mind, its not even funny

Kiba: I guess its though being on the top eh?

Naruto: What?

Kiba: I mean Being second in command of the fleet must be hard work

Naruto: Oh no, that's the least of my worries, its all the other things that's been going on, you know, sometimes I just want to drop everything and go back home and be a Ninja again....

Kiba: But your not going too, well at least not right now, and I am going to tell you why. Its because your not a quitter, you look at a problem and you tackle it head on, your not always smart about it, but you do not give up, ever, you have the respect and loyalty of not only this ENTIRE crew, but there is a fleet out there, ready to go to war on your command, and not because they HAVE too, but because they look up too you, they know no matter what, you will pull them threw it, just like you have done since day 1, I know there must be a lot of things on your mind, and I am sure some of those things are troubling you, such as Sakura, but you will find a way to solve everything, it may take you time, you may make mistakes, but in the end it will all come together, and THEN, and only then, you would consider returning home and taking your rightful place as Hokage, and leader of our planet, but not before, because I know you too well Captain Uzumaki Naruto.....

Naruto smiled once more, but before he could respond

Naruto literally ran out of his ready room, knowing Picard would be there in just a few short moments, and he planned on being there to greet him. Finally Naruto arrived, and just in time too, as the shimmering from the transporter was just ending

Picard: Ah, Naruto, you didn't need to greet me

Naruto: Of course I did sir, welcome to the Predator

Picard: Thank you my boy, so are we ready to leave?

Naruto: We just finished some minor refits and repairs, so yes we are, but I must ask sir, why are you here?

Picard: Didn't the Hokage tell you? I am going to go as your adviser

Naruto: No no, what I meant was, aren't you taking the Enterprise?

Picard: No, I am leaving Konohamaru behind to take care of things while we are gone

Naruto: Ah I see, well then, I will have some guest quarters done up for you right away

Picard: No need, your quarters will do just fine

Picard cracked a smile

Picard: Just kidding, you need to loosen up my boy, I use to be just like you, but I guess you are young, and I do envy you, but enough about that, shall we get underway?

Meanwhile Katie and Yuna were still talking, Yuna had talked her into telling her everything that had lead to her crying in her bed, requesting a transfer

Yuna: How do you know all that ? I mean I am not trying to claim I know him better or anything, but he doesn't seem like the man to just give up on something, including a relationship, I think you should have talked it over with him, how do you think he must feel right now?

Katie: Considering that he is going about his business as if nothing happened, and I am here crying my eyes out, he must not have minded....

The man is a Captain, not only that, second in command of the fleet, he can't just drop everything and go cry in a corner, he has to be strong for his crew, how much you want to bet that right now, he is thorn up inside? He hit the Chime and waited for a response, he knew she was there since he had checked beforehand, the doors slid open and Tenten was standing in front of him, but to his surprise, she was in a very pretty dress

Tenten: Oh captain, I.....What can I do for you?

Naruto Peeked inside and saw Neji sitting at the table, he was also surprisingly well dressed

Naruto: Uh.....Is this a bad time?

Tenten: Well we were just about to eat dinner....But no sir, Is there anything you need me for?

Naruto: Not specifically.....But I do need to talk to you....And Neji being here hits 2 birds with 1 stone, and I promise I won't be long...Its just I have to have these talks done by the time my mission is over....

Tenten: Oh well, sure come in

Naruto: Thank you, and again I apologies for intruding on your evening

Tenten: Its no problem, this sounds urgent

Naruto: It is..And Isn't

Neji: What do you mean? How can it be and not at the same time

He handed them both a PADD

Naruto: Transfer "requests"

Neji: Requests? Don't you mean orders?

Naruto: No Neji, they are requests, in other words, it is being left up to you, you are both being requested to transfer to the USS Freedom, under the command of newly appointed captain Uchiha Itachi, Tenten you would go back to being a chief navigator officer, and Neji, you would get your wish, you wanted more responsibilities, well you would be chief of operations, meaning you would be a senior officer, these also come with a promotion IF you chose to accept the request...I am not going to lie, I would hate to lose either one of you, but this is your future, and I want it to be your choice

Tenten: We would be breaking up the family...

Naruto: We are still a family no mater where we are

Neji: Well ever since you gave me command of some night watches, I have been content......

Naruto: But have you truly been satisfied? Are you truly happy with that?

Neji: Are you trying to make me want to leave?

Naruto: No of course not, its just, if you do decide to reject the offer, I want it to be because you TRULY want to stay, because you are happy with your position here, but if you are staying only for my sake, then, that's wrong

Neji and Tenten looked at each other

Neji: I have to say that the offer is very tempting, the promotion wouldn't be bad either, but are we the only ones?

Naruto: No, Kakashi and Shikamaru have also been offered positions, though i haven't spoken to them yet, so I don't know there answer, however, don't let that affect your own, if they pick to stay, don't feel guilty, do whats right for you both

Neji: Can we think about this?

Tenten: Yeah....This is kind of sudden

Naruto: Yes of course, but you only have until the end of my mission here, I will need an answer by the time we warp back for Konoha

Neji and Tenten both nodded as Naruto got up from his seat and walked towards the door

Tenten just blushed madly as Naruto hurried out of the quarters with a grin from ear to ear, but it didn't last long as he took out the other 2 PADDs from his pocket

Naruto was heading down towards the hazard team's lecture hall, Kakashi was going over there last training session, Naruto took a seat at the back as to not disturb the lecture. It wasn't long before Kakashi was done and the team began left, Kakashi had noticed Naruto sitting silently in the back

Kakashi: Ah Captain, I see that you joined us today, I hope you enjoyed the lecture

Naruto: Yeah, I remember when I use to do these when I was the CO of the hazard team

Kakashi: So is there anything i can help you with? Or did you just join us for old times sake

Naruto: Yeah, I need to talk to you

Kakashi: Is it about the security at the meeting? I can assure you that my hazard team will work with Hinata's security teams to make sure nothing happens, the training we just did was actually a simulation of what to do if something went wrong, I plan to redo the simulation with Hinata and her teams before we arrive at our destination

Naruto: That's great, but no, I am here for something else

Kakashi: Oh?

Naruto got up and walked down the steps, he handed Kakashi the PADD

Kakashi: Whats this?

Naruto: Yeah, its not mandatory, its up to you to accept or decline it, your being offered chief tactical and security officer, as well as second officer of the USS Freedom, under the command of Itachi, the transfer also comes with a promo should you accept

Kakashi: A very generous offer, but I don't know

Naruto: You don't need to decide now, think on it, you have until the end of our mission, but I want you to think about what you want and your future, not about what I want alright? If you are genially happy here on the Predator, then I am more then happy to keep you, but you have to remember, I don't have any room to promote you or make you a part of my senior staff, at least not for the time being

Kakashi nodded as he put the pad in his pocket

Naruto: Neji, Tenten and Shikamaru have also been offered a similar request, so you might not be going alone if you chose to go, but if they pick to stay, do not allow that to affect your decision

Kakashi: Alright, I will give it some though

Naruto: Alright, Keep up the good work with your hazard team

He said with a smile before he began to walk out of the room, he held out the last PADD with Shikamaru's name on it

Naruto: Might as well get it over with, Computer, locate Commander Nara Shikamaru

Computer: Commander Nara Shikamaru is currently on deck 2, mess hall

Naruto headed towards the closest turbolift and told it to take him to deck 2

Shikamaru was sitting at one of the lunging area's of the mess hall drinking what seemed to be a coffee and reading threw some reports, as Naruto joined him and sat next to him

Naruto: Still doing paperwork?

Shika: Yeah, there troublesome, but I guess it comes with the job

Naruto: Yeah....I just had to do quite a pile of them myself, being captain comes with a lot of damn paperwork

Shika: Yeah, witch is why I don't want to reach that point

Naruto handed him the PADD

Shika: What's this? More paperwork?

Naruto: No....Its a transfer request, as you know Itachi has received his own command and would like for you to.....

Shikamaru handed him back the PADD

Shika: No

Naruto: No?!

Shika: I assume the "request" part means that i can decline or accept it

Naruto: Well yeah, but you didn't even read it....

Shika: I don't need too

Naruto: But there was a promotion as well and you would get to be the first officer and...

Shika: The job is too troublesome, I am happy here

Naruto: But...I cannot guarantee you that you will keep your job as my first officer

Shika: I have always assumed that when Sasuke came back, he would retake his spot, my place is here

Naruto: Are you sure you don't want some time to think about this?

Shika: Now I think its time we spoke about Itachi

Shika: We need to keep an eye on him, I am not saying that he lied to us about everything, or that he is going to betray us, but there is something about him that makes me worry

Naruto: Well you could have done that if you would have accepted the request

Shika: No, not me, I am to obvious, same would go for anyone that he requested for, we need someone that he wouldn't suspect

Shika: No, the less people know, the less chances he has to hear about it, only me you and our spy should know

Naruto: Hurm, what if we don't find anything wrong?

Shika: Then we bring our spy back knowing that there is nothing to worry about

Shikamaru nodded in agreement, suddenly the mess hall doors open and Naruto noticed Katie walk in with Yuna, Katie had obviously seen him because she stopped and began to back out of the mess hall

Naruto: Katie!

Naruto got up to talk to her but she left in a hurry, Naruto tried to catch up, but it was to late, she had entered the lift, Yuna run up behind him

Naruto: Damn it... Why is she doing this...

Yuna: She is afraid sir, of being rejected

Naruto: I just wanted to talk to her

Yuna: Tell you what, I will talk to her, convince her that she should sit down stop running from you, I know you did nothing wrong, its just....

Naruto: I know, and thanks for your help

Yuna: Hey, I wouldn't help you if you were not worth it sir, Katie is my best friend, and she deserves to be happy, and you are the one who made her the happiest since I have known her, so let me go talk to her
